Papua New Guinea — Owen Stanley Range

Trek Kokoda Safely With Kokoda Courage

Every trek is led by current or former emergency services and defence personnel, bringing real-world operational experience to ensure participant safety and wellbeing throughout the journey.

Is the Kokoda Trek Hard?

The Kokoda Track is physically and mentally demanding, with steep, relentless climbs and descents, high humidity, mud, river crossings and long days carrying your own pack. With solid preparation, the right mindset and experienced support, it's achievable — but it will test you and push you well outside your comfort zone.

Is the Kokoda Trek Safe?

The Kokoda Track is a remote and challenging environment, but when professionally managed it can be undertaken safely with the right preparation, risk planning and on-ground support. We are the only trek operator to include a highly qualified medic on every trek, supported by Australian-led guides who are current or retired critical response professionals from elite emergency backgrounds — CIRT, SOG, Police, Fire, Paramedic and Army — ensuring you are in the safest hands on Kokoda.

From Our Trekkers

What Our Kokoda Trekkers Say

“I think I learnt a lot about resilience while completing the trek. I learnt that no matter what challenges you face, there's always a way around it or a way to overcome it. The relationship that we created with the locals over the entirety of the trek was something that I didn't expect at all — it was really great.”
