Why Kokoda Courage
Why Choose Kokoda Courage to Trek Kokoda?
A Trip to Remember
When choosing to trek with us, you can trust that your safety and well-being are our top priorities. The Kokoda Track presents a challenging and physically demanding journey in a remote setting, emphasising the crucial need for a highly qualified trek medic.
Our dedicated medic is equipped to handle emergencies, administering a range of medical care, from intravenous life-saving drugs to hydration and critical care. Beyond tending to trek participants, our trek medic provides essential medical aid to local guides and villagers in need along the way.
At the heart of our trekking experience is a deep connection with the local guides, hailing from the villages along the Kokoda Track. We consider them as our brothers and sisters, treating them with the utmost respect and care throughout the journey. All our local guides receive compensation above the award rate set by the Kokoda Track Authority, recognising their invaluable role in representing the spirit of their ancestors, the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels of 1942.
Kokoda Emergency Leadership
Our tour leaders bring a combined 120+ years of operational emergency management experience across Australia, Papua New Guinea, and internationally. Their backgrounds span elite fields including Special Operations Group, military service, professional firefighting, crisis care medics, and critical incident response leadership, ensuring you are in exceptionally safe and capable hands with our team.
Critical Care Medics & Villager Medical Support
At Kokoda Courage, your safety is our highest priority on every Kokoda Trek. We are equally committed to supporting the local communities along the trail, with our team of critical care medics providing essential assistance for both emergencies and general healthcare needs. We are the only Kokoda trekking company to include a professional critical care medic on every trip, ensuring the highest standard of care and peace of mind throughout your journey.
