Australian and Japanese forces clashed along the Eora Creek. Australian troops faced difficult terrain and harsh weather conditions.
Fighting around Eora Creek was drawn out and difficult, fought over steep, heavily timbered terrain in near-constant rain. It became a key staging point as the Australians began their advance back toward Kokoda later in the campaign.
